Giant Acoustic Arrays to Arrest Locust Plagues

One concept, which is being floated in the scientific community to stop locust plagues from devastating the landscape is to use directional sound beams to stop them as they fly and eat their way across the countryside? But is it really possible? The brilliant thinker behind this concept believes it is and has announced his concept in an online think tank. Mr. Warren Powers wishes to use large acoustic arrays to send directional sound waves into the Locust Swarms to disrupt their ability to fly.

Warren states; “The sound delivery device would be similar to ATC, but quickly adjustable for distance and angle. That means a similar targeting mechanism as is found on new military tanks, allowing them to fire en-route.”

Indeed the think tank moderator believes too that Warren’s concept; “could actually work.” And summarizes; Yes there are array devices and directional sound type units available for Humvees for riot control and civil unrest and part of the Future Fighting Force Non-lethal weapons categories. The other point I mentioned above is that it needs to be “six gyro enhanced” to ensure the unit can remain at full power on the locust plague at all times.

We use the Cad Cam device to delineate the swarm and break it into grids. We hit the front top grids first to slow swarm and make it bunch up. We know that the locusts will cannibalize injured locusts and start eating them in-flight as they fall and crash. This will cause the swarm to change shape and as it does you focus on the expanding leading edge permeations causing the same affect. Remember we are talking about what? 10-14 mph? Speed? On one Locust Plague website research center in the UK there is a Cad Cam drawing of the cloud or swarm of a locust plague, which is quite revealing. With a little ESRI exploits and Jack Dangermond magic, this is all doable. Side subject;

&act=Print&client=printer&f=104&t=221

Also at LANL they had done studies tracking wind by grid pattern data. The locust plague could be tracked similarly and the grid becomes the target, not the individual locusts obviously. You know the more the online think tank looks at this concept the more it appears he maybe right on the money? Imagine this in 2006.

Seven Deadly Enemies That Stop You From Reaching Your Goals

Everybody on this planet has enemies, rivals and foes. Call them any way you like, but nevertheless they exist, chasing you at every step you make. Nobody knows where they come from, but the fact of their existence was detected on the planet and still nobody knows completely the effective remedy from them. They spoil our lives; put the spokes in our wheel, making tricky endeavors to distract us. The biggest nuisance they cause is that they prevent us from reaching success in life. The only way out of this situation is to disclose them and to wipe them out once and for all.

You’ll be surprised to know that those enemies live within you.

Our greatest enemies, whom we must chiefly combat live inside of us. So, what are those crafty enemies that hold us back from reaching our goals?

7 Deadly Enemies of Your Goals

Enemy #1

For 33 percents of people it is shortage of time. They claim that 24 hours are always not enough for everything they have planned. Time is of the essence, they say. And they try their best with 24 hours and manage their time vary carefully, but in any case they constantly feel the lack of time. Time is an illness causing fatigue.

Enemy #2

For 11 percents it is lack of motivation. These people feel that they don’t achieve their goal, because they don’t know exactly why they are aiming at it. As a result, they don’t know how to persuade their mind to achieve that goal. More often these people are satisfied with small achievements.

Enemy #3

For other 33 percents of people it is lack of persistence. These people just go with the stream, because they lack decisiveness and perseverance. They can’t get over the difficulties, they easily give up and refuse from their dreams.

Enemy #4

For 22 percents the major enemy is their uncertainty. They don’t know what their goals are. These people just don’t know what they want to get from this life. Their life is one big question-mark for them.

Enemy #5

For some people it is fear, because they afraid to fail and get frustrated. They get angry with themselves when they don’t fulfill their goals.

Enemy #6

For other people it is laziness. These people just idle and don’t want to make any effort to achieve their goals.

Enemy #7

Finally, for some people it is a lack of opportunity. Some people are deprived of the opportunity to exhibit their talents and gifts. Success is people-dependent factor. Often most of aspiring people are driven away form their dreams on account of opportunity factors.

A common enemy of ours is the surrounding: jealous and envy people who put obstacles on our way to success.

Now you know your enemies by their faces, so it will be easier for you to fight against them.

Where to Invest Your Money

If you are new to investing, or even if you’ve been playing the market for a while, investment options can be overwhelming. Stocks, bonds, mutual funds. How do you pick the best place to invest your money? That’s quite a decision!

Here are some tips that can help you get started:

If you are planning for a long-term investment, it may be wisest to go with stocks. History shows that stocks outperform other investing options over the long term. For example, from 1926 to 2004, the stock market had an average annual gain of 10.4%, compared with only 5.4% for bonds and even less for other forms of investing.

That said, stocks may not be such a good option for short-term investing. They tend to be more risky and can undergo severe losses. Unless you’re planning to keep your money there for a long time, you might not want to weather the stress of the stock market’s ups and downs. Overall, a company’s earnings are going to be the biggest player in a stock’s fluctuation.

If you’re willing to take a little bit of risk with your investing-or a lot-you probably will notice a bigger payoff. Stocks, for example, are a riskier investment than bonds. But again, stocks tend to bring in a much higher return. On the other hand, there is also the chance that your stock will dip and you may suffer a great loss. That’s all part of the game.

If you’re looking for a low-risk, surefire investment strategy, U.S. Treasury bonds may be the way to go. The government has a lot of power over these bonds. Because of this, investing in these bonds is generally considered risk-free. Keep in mind, however, that bonds don’t do so well when interest rates rise. Conversely, when interest rates go down, bond prices rise. This is particularly true with long-term bonds.

To be safe, the best advice is to diversify your portfolio. If you practice investing in a number of different areas, you are least likely to lose it all. (Remember the Enron scandal? Don’t make that mistake!) Some investments will go up, others will go down. But at least you can be pretty sure you won’t lose it all. Chances are, with a little research, some self-education, and careful investing, you’ll build your savings substantially. Happy investing!

The Sun Can Save Money

When fuel prices were low, it was unnecessary to justify the upfront outlay of money required to install solar panels, solar water heaters and similar equipment. The reason was simple to understand – it would simply take too long to recoup the cost of the equipment in the form of lower energy bills.

Things have changed though. As energy prices continue to go up, the amount of time required to recoup the upfront cost goes down. In addition, a number of state and local tax incentives make it even easier for homeowners to go solar and save money right away.

The dynamics of this economy have now changed though. The costs of installing solar panels is still high, with a typical two kilowatt installation of solar panels from OVR Solar costing around £10,000 / ($20, 000) in most cases, but special tax incentives and long term energy savings can help homeowners recoup those upfront costs faster than ever before.

Governments around the world are increasingly willing to help. This tax savings can help eligible homeowners recoup some of the costs of installing solar panels and solar water heating systems up front, in addition to the energy savings they will enjoy down the road.

Any homeowner considering the installation of a solar system should be sure to check with his or her state and city to determine what types of tax breaks are available. It’s sensible to look into what help your local authorities are willing to provide. Just Google it to find out what help is available to you.

The factors affecting how long it will take to break even will vary from case to case.. However, as the prices for heating oil, gas and other forms of traditional energy continue to soar, the appeal of solar energy will only grow.

Spinnerbait Fishing Tactics for Spotted Bay Bass

Like most fishermen my age I originally learned about spinnerbait fishing for largemouth bass with my Dad. My class room was the back of an aluminum rental boat drifting the brush flats and rocky points of Irvine Lake in Orange County and Lake Cachuma in Santa Barbara, CA. Both lakes were renowned southern California bass fisheries in the 1960’s and 70’s. Later I refined my techniques from the business end of a Nitro bass boat fishing team tournaments in the waters of the mid west for Smallmouth bass and Muskie.

In the last 30 years I have managed to refined my spinnerbait technique quite a bit. I now do most of my fishing from my kayak or a float tube but the target fish is still a bass albeit a distant saltwater cousin, the Spotted Bay Bass. The proving grounds are now Newport Harbor, the LA Breakwall and Mission Bay, San Diego. Most of the large harbors of Southern California’s coast are filled with hungry spotted bass or sand bass that are just waiting to try this tasty treat.

Keep your tackle choices simple

I fish a 7′ IM7 graphite baitcasting rod from Infinity Fishing Products, nothing fancy $49.95 retail. The rod is rated 8-15# test and has a 11″ cork butt with a trigger grip and 4″ cork fore grip. It’s built with 1 foot Fugi SIC guides. I use an inexpensive Daiwa, low profile baitcasting reel. Basically the same setup you would use to throw spinnerbaits for largemouth bass with maybe slightly heavier line.

Spotted bass have very sharp teeth and side plates on their heads. With a spinnerbait you don’t have to worry about the teeth but you do have to worry about their head platting. Spots have a tendency to trash and roll on the bait. For this reason the money you spend on line is more important than any other expenditure. I use 10# P-line. I like its overall characteristics, stretch, knot strength, visibility and its tuff! Sometimes if I am going outside to fish the breakers or kelp beds for Calicos I will step up to 12# test. Other good lines i’ve tried include Stren, Trilene XT and the new Cuda line.

Check your line and Re-Tie your spinnerbaits often! I can not stress this enough. At $6 a pop for quality saltwater spinnerbaits one mistake is to many.

For bait colors, I choose the basics. In most cases it’s a chart/white 1/2oz. with a small gold colorado and a #5 willow or indiana/willow blade combo. I also carry natural Shad for clear water and a Fire Tiger color for stained water and overcast days. Black/red and Purple/blue are good night colors. When fishing the bays the average casting distance is short so I find the 1/2 oz. works in most all situations but I do carry a few 3/4oz. just in case the current is faster and a few 1 oz. models for fishing deep structure.

A few basic tips to catch more fish:

Being a tournament fisherman I am constantly looking for a new edge or technique. And like most serious kayak anglers I try most of the new techniques mentioned on the discussion boards and other kayak publications. But, like the Highlander, I am never far from my blade. For those of you who are new to spinnerbait fishing I have included a few important and easy to remember tactics to catch more Spinnerbait fish in the bays.

If you are tossing into rock piles and shallow structure such as docks and weeds beds the bass will often times slam the bait within moments of it hitting the water. This is due to their predatory instincts and defense mechanisms. For this reason I try to have my reel engaged (in gear)the moment the bait hits its target. There is nothing more frustrating than missing an opportunity to set the hook cleanly because of a birds nest or to much slack.

A gentle arch cast will put enough slack into my cast to give me the depth I am looking for. So with this in mind I engage my reel just after the spinnerbait starts its decent. Then, hopefully, when it gently plops into the water next to the dock or rock pile I just count it down quickly 1,2,3 . . and start my retrieve. Practice this method and you will eliminate most of the small overcast birds nets that plaque even the most skilled spinnerbait fishermen.

Make an accurate cast the first time and don’t be afraid to bump the rocks and momentarily kill the bait. You can let it fall all the way to the bottom and then burn it back to the surface.

Fishing visible structure: empty docks, pilings, etc.

When possible cast your bait up under the docks or piers and always parallel to the docks. Cast as far back as possible into the shallow water and work your way out. If your not getting bit try letting the bait sink on the cast and dead stick it for a few moments then a few twitch movements and then burn it back. This method just may aggravate the fish into striking.

Be sure to hit both sides of all pilings, rocks and any visible structure breaks. (Hit the shadow side first if possible)

Fishing the eelgrass beds and deep cover

Spotted Bass Love eelgrass! It affords them the three most important elements, Cover from the sun, Protection from the elements and other predictors and an abundance of food. I have found that the best eelgrass beds are those in about 6′ of water. I also find that this area is better on the incoming tide. This depth leaves about 4′ of water over the eelgrass. The fish are coming into the area with a new attitude with the sole purpose of feeding.

Cast your spinnerbait into the shallower area and pull it out towards the deep area. Let it get right into the grass. A twitches and a couple of cranks on the handle and your bait will be sliding through the eelgrass with an enticing vibration and a “Bite Me” attitude.

Don’t get discouraged if you don’t get bit quickly just keep at it, the fish are there.

Hint; wear a pair of Polaroid glasses to take the sun’s glare off the water. This will allow you to keep better track of your baits.

Fishing Deep cover for your Kicker Fish

I have picked up some very nice fish in deep cover situations. If you have metered deep cover such as a rock pile this is a prime spot for a Big Grump to kick your limit into the top 5 positions. Usually areas like this will hold only a couple fish but their size is usually bigger. Position your kayak so you can cast past the structure up current and let your spinnerbait get deep enough before starting your slow steady retrieve.

Make a long cast and count your spinnerbait down. This is where the heavier model comes in handy. Work your spinnerbait using a lift and drop action. It is best if you can drag bottom or at least bump the structure. Be Careful here; two things can happen and one will cost you a good lure. The other will raise your blood pressure slightly, but only until she’s in the net. I’ve lost a few good baits with this technique but I’ve landed more than enough real nice fish to make up for the lose.

Spinnerbaits also work quite well on sandbass. For this reason I will also cast into areas that hold moored sailboats and areas where the bay splits into two directions. Sandbass will hold tight to the bottom so try a long cast and keep bottom contact with a lift and pull type action.

Remember, sometimes it is hard to tell the difference between a fish and structure. When in doubt set the hook, swings are free.

Learning to fish a spinnerbait effectively is not hard it only sounds like it. Practice is all it takes to become a proficient spinnerbait fisherman. There are a number of good spinnerbait articles available on the internet. I hope you enjoyed reading this article and that it helps you catch and land more fish. If I can be of further assistance just make a post on the http://www.FKPFishing.net website discussion board and I’ll be sure to answer.

The Queen Charlotte Islands – Home Of The Haida

The Queen Charlottes in British Columbia are a group of islands south of the Alaska panhandle that is the ancestral home of the Haida – the West Coast Aboriginals who have lived here for thousands of years. Their name for it is Haida Gwaii – “islands of the people”. These islands contain one of the most diverse landscapes in the world. They are actually the peaks of a submerged mountain chain, with the tallest peaks perpetually capped in snow. Just 2 or 3 kilometres offshore on the west side of the islands, the continental shelf falls away dramatically to the immense depths of the Pacific Ocean. Haida Gwaii is the most active earthquake area in Canada. Natural landslides are a common occurrence and scarred mountainsides are visible from the fjord-like inlets.

The total land area of Haida Gwaii is approximately 3,840 square miles; 156 miles (250 km) from north to south. They lie southwest of Prince Rupert across the Hecate Strait. Two Islands comprise the majority of the land mass.

Graham Island is the largest of the Queen Charlotte Islands, covering 2,500 square miles (6,500 sq km) and is the most accessible and populated of the islands, with most of the significant communities. The small village of Masset is the largest town on the Queen Charlotte Islands. Located at the northern end of Graham Island, Masset is the northern gateway to Naikoon Park. The laid-back fishing village of Queen Charlotte City is located along the shores of Bearskin Bay, 5 kilometres west of the ferry terminal at Skidegate Landing. Known as Charlotte by the locals, the administrative centre for the Queen Charlotte Islands is a small thriving village of government offices, a hospital and a variety of shops and accommodations. The Haida community of Skidegate is the cultural centre of the Haida, where the visitor can examine art and cultural artifacts first hand. The two ferry docks at Skidegate Landing serve ferries to Prince Rupert on the BC mainland and to Alliford Bay on Moresby Island.

Moresby Island is the smaller and less accessible of the two main islands, with less than 18 miles (30 km) of public roads. Sandspit is the only settlement on Moresby Island and is the location of the main airport for the Queen Charlotte Islands. The first settlers at Sandspit established farms and ranches around the grassy flats.

Haida Gwaii, as it is now known, was – according to Haida legend – the place where time began. They also have an older name for these isolated islands and it may be the most appropriate name of all. It is Xhaaidlagha Gwaayaai meaning “Islands at the Boundary of the World”. There is a mystical nature to the place, some say even somewhat spiritual. Nicknamed by biologists the “Galapagos of the North”, the unusual and abundant flora and fauna that thrive on the Islands, coupled with the diversity of the marine wildlife in the surrounding waters make it an ecological marvel.

In all there are 1,884 islands in the archipelago, a mixture of snow-topped mountains and fiords that plunge into the sea, mist-enshrouded forests and windswept sandy beaches. The seven largest of the islands are – from north to south – Langara, Graham, Moresby, Louise, Lyell, Burnaby and Kunghit Island. Haida Gwaii has been home to the Haida people for as long as oral history and archaeology have recorded occupation of the islands – at least 7,000 years. At least 14,000 people have lived in over 126 known village sites. The population plummeted to 589 by 1911 following first contact with Europeans, all resident in either Skidegate or Old Masset. Today, the Queen Charlottes are less populated, at 6,000 people, than they were a century ago when Haida communities thrived along the shores. Today, two out of three Haida live off-island, many of which say they are planning to return.

The Spanish explorer Juan Perez first discovered the islands in July 1774. A decade later the fur traders followed and were the only visitors for the next 100 years. This had a major impact on Haida culture that had had little outside contact with the off-islands world. In the 18th and 19th centuries the area was a thriving fur trading centre, as the Europeans arrived in huge sailing ships to trade in the Haida villages. The islands were named after HMS Queen Charlotte, Lord Howe’s flagship named in honour of Queen Charlotte, wife of King George III. Dispatched by King George’s Sound Company to trade in sea otter furs between the Pacific coast of America and China, Captain George Dixon named the islands after his vessel in the summer of 1787.

The Queen Charlotte Islands is largely a resource-based economy. Logging, commercial fishing, mining and tourism are the main industries. The local economy is particularly dependent upon the forest industry, located primarily on the east and west sides of Graham Island, with a smaller portion on northwest Moresby Island. The timber supply area is around half a million hectares of western hemlock, western red cedar, Sitka spruce and yellow cedar. Salmon, herring, halibut, black cod and crabs are the main products in commercial fisheries. In addition to these industries, employment is also high in the service industries and government, which employs a full 32% of the island population of 6,000.

Skidegate Lake is the heart of a thriving industry for the harvest and export of Chanterelle mushrooms, primarily for the Japanese market. Mushrooms are an annual, if totally unpredictable, harvest on Haida Gwaii. They only grow in second-growth timber, requiring careful management of crown lands to the benefit of both loggers and mushroom pickers. With 60 to 70% of the harvest coming out of the Skidegate Lake and Mosquito Lake areas of Moresby Island, up to 200 pickers can be working in and around Skidegate Lake during August in a bumper crop year.

Six new cedar totem poles – each 13 metres or higher, were pulled upright on the shores of Skidegate in June 2001. The new poles are the first to be raised here since 1978. They honour six major southern Haida villages, five of which were devastated by smallpox before the 20th century. Totem poles are wonderful examples of aboriginal art. The ancient practice of totem carving has been handed down through generations as a way of preserving the history of local native heritage as well as honouring tribal rituals and sacred spirits of people.

Even with modern transportation and communication, the islands are still relatively isolated, to some an attraction in itself, with recreation and native culture as the main attractions. Sport fishing, hiking, camping, kayaking, boating, whale watching, beachcombing and sightseeing are the major recreational activities. For the tourist who wants to get away from it all, the Queen Charlotte Islands are a twenty-first century best bet.

A Game Plan For Travel Plans

When making travel plans, it is important to strive for those plans that are beneficial to your trip and to your pocketbook. In order to provide you with a little help in planning your travel plans, we have put together a few detailed items we find to be valuable. By using these tricks of the trade, you can have a great vacation and have travel plans set with savings long beforehand.

Let’s get planning your travel plans.

Step 1. Be as flexible as you can be. If you are, then you will have many options available to you. If you can pick your travel dates, do so in the mid week. Avoid weekend travelers. This will give you more flexibility in the hotels you stay at. It will save you money as well. Not to mention that it will also reduce line times and wait times. Planning on staying longer than a week? Then book your stay from mid week to mid week.

Step 2. Plan early. The earlier that you book your travel plans the better. You get better rates and you get more choices. Availability is often limited. Also, as the demand for room on a plane or in a hotel increase so do those prices!

Step 3. Shop around. In order to save the most, look for the best deal. You can use online travel agency, a normal travel agency or book your travel plans yourself. There is no better way to save money than to compare the rates of several companies. Remember to include any taxes, fees, and other charges associated with using the online travel agencies as well.

Step 4. Loose the extras. Unless your vacation is centered on the hotel you are staying at, look for those that have fewer frills. No sense in paying more for a hotel with a pool and spa if you won’t have the time to take advantage of it, now is there?

Step 5. For airlines, it is often cheaper and less crowded to fly during off peak hours. Again, we are talking about avoiding the weekend rush. Also, if you fly in the middle of the night, you will get to catch a few z’s while saving a few dollars as well. Look for routes that may take longer but offer a cheaper price. This could be those that have layovers. If you don’t mind, you’ll save money this way over direct flights.

The most valuable tips are those that you use. If something does not apply to your travel plans, then find ways of lowering the price in your own way. Driving is cheaper than flying but remember that the cost of gas, the wear on the car and the longer trip means more costs as well. You may have to book a room where as during the flight you wouldn’t.

In the end, it is wise to begin planning your travel plans as soon as you can. By shopping around and comparing prices it is easy to save some money. You’ll have the security of knowing that everything is ready to go as well. Travel plans don’t have to be difficult at all!

Big Companies Bring High Speed Laptop Computers to Everybody

In my opinion gaming notebooks have lost their once sustained specialist status. I remember when they were not so widespread. Sure they were not produced in big qty’s however system builders did make a lot of money on them. Regardless of that people most likely wanted one. I think you would say they were the best laptop computers available, at least power wise. Despite the fact that was true I reckon the prices were so costly that we would buy laptops that were not so good instead. As of late it seems bigger companies are all getting into the sector very fast and things are shifting.

Compared to the smaller resellers these companies know they can make even more margin. It is a splendid chance for them to regain gross markup as the markup on mass market laptop computers are so tiny nowadays. Multinational companies would certainly find it effortless to get us to buy these laptop computers. I don’t know what this will do to littler companies however it will have a negative effect on them. I say this because now the technology which was once special and high priced is now mainstream. In addition the big brand name will give customers increased confidence.

To my astonishment the branded gaming laptop computers are as good or even better than the best laptop computers available to buy. I still reckon that smaller resellers will gain significant encouragement from this. At times the littler companies can provide the newest components quicker and so provide faster specs too. Customers of this sort are generally really knowledgeable concerning the technology involved, and hence can carry out like for like comparisons. For certain purchasers specs and benchmarks are more meaningful than physical appearance.

As a likely buyer myself this is really all a good development for me. One strategy that the littler resellers may utilise is to reduce markup in to sell greater numbers of system. Remember that is just my opinion on the current situation. Prices will be kept high because of the constant manufacture of new portables. I reckon we’ll have to watch if this saturation causes any significant benefits for the market.

On The Way To Letting Go: The Top Ten Identities

It has been said numerous times, in several occasions: the secret to a successful life is in allowing, and giving room for the part of you that is truer, bigger, deeper to come out and play… “Let go and let God” is by now a perennial saying. If it is so universal, what is keeping you from the sweet promise it offers? The following identities will deepen your clarity on where the resistance may be to let go, to let God, to let gold, to let good.

1. The Owner

Has it ever happened to you to resist letting go of clothes, or maybe of books that meant a lot to you? The thought is, this belongs to me; it is mine! More than to the material value or the physical possession, we hang on to the meaning of owning a specific object and to the image that it conveys to us. It is not the $200 you spent on a bag, it is more that you bought it in Italy, and it’s hard to let go of what this vacation has meant to you…

2. The Trapeze Artist

It is quite understandable that, at a time of insurances and money back warranties, you would want to have some form of reassurance before you leap. Think again! In truth letting go implies a huge amount of trust. Imagine how total is the trust of a Trapeze Artist… When you let go of holding on to that particular “possession” of yours, be it a friend, a cat, or a record player, you have to know in your heart something else is coming to replace it.

3. The Beginner

When does it start, do I hear you ask? When is one letting go? Who is asking the question? Certainly not the one who is letting go! Letting go in that sense is like forgiveness: you either do or don’t. On that subject, there cannot be any middle range or room for hesitation: that is where letting go begins!

4. The Achiever

If you are working hard on letting go, you are probably not doing it! Relax, take a breath, become supple, bend a little, have fun! There it is… Letting go happens when you are not trying, not concentrating, not efforting. Letting go implies to have transcended the achiever to obtain something bigger than the goal, that is, to dare to meet you!

5. The Controller

Letting go is like fame: it is an overnight sensation! You might have spent lots of energy to come to a place when you can detach from what had held you prisoner before. All of this was preparation for the “ultimate accident”, for the magical moment that you cannot predict or control… And yes, it is free, free falling, free flying and fully fun!

6. The Seeker

You are in severe danger! At any moment, you may be connecting to your aliveness, to your goodness, to your godness! At any moment, you may inadvertently find God! Could it be that you are staying in the pain, in the story, in the deception, simply because you are afraid that if you were to find God, then all would be finished, the longing, the searching, the questing, the doubts, the dramas?

7. The Diver

I like to imagine that we all carry two angels on our shoulders, pointing us in the direction of our dreams, inviting us to leap and take the jump. Yes, it is totally scary at times to leave the solid ground, the comfortable nest, and just go! Indeed to retrieve the precious pearl of life, you have to have the courage to dive for it.

8. The Explorer

Adopting an explorer mind is truly a death of sorts: it is the willingness to separate from an identity, from a set of beliefs that makes you who you think you are. It is in a way a delegation. In letting God do it, it no longer is your problem. Somebody else will handle it. That is big to suddenly realize someone else can do a better job: what a treat that is!

9. The Shaker

Have you noticed that the word emotion comes out of motion? Motion happens when you put the accent on the “go” rather than on the “letting.” Your resistance is simply keeping you stuck in one place. Just let “go”, that is, let the “go” come into the picture. Allow yourself to meet new possibilities, enter new territories…

10. The Meaning Maker
