Poker Fashion

The world of online poker fashion is a much maligned concept. You could never really accuse most players of being stylishthink of how easily Marcel Luske got considered the fanciest dresser of all time just by wearing a suit to the main event.

From gaudy t-shirts depicting playing cards on fire, to cheesy slogans like ‘I’m all in,’ it’s near impossible to find a poker shirt that doesn’t at least partially reek of poker dork.

Worse than the silly slogan might be the poker turtleneck or the poker flip shades, the poker loafers and floppy haps, all of which, yes, I have been unfortunately subjected to at live tables and often as well by some of the more outlandish players on TV.

It seems to take a bit of a mental disconnect to wear poker memorabilia, as exhibited perhaps most pointedly by the ever infamous Phil Hellmuth, who has taken it upon himself to launch a whole line of silly poker clothing, all related to himself. Does anybody really need a poker hockey jersey or a Phil Hellmuth doo rag? I’m not sure we do, but the fact that the items seem to stay afloat suggest that the poker fashion craze isn’t a side effect of the game itselfit’s symptomatic.

Yeah, us online poker players, we probably need help.
