Digital Printing’s Impact on the Modern Printing Industry

If you have ever used one of the old dot matrix printers with rows of holes to feed the ream of paper and dealt with the steady paper jams, then you’ve got a concept of exactly how far technology has come in the printing industry.

Gone forever are the days of barely fuzzy text and faded gray photographs. Today’s printing process has gone digital, and the benefit obviously shows. From the strikingly clear photographs to the brilliancy of the colours, digital printing displays everything on your firm’s promoting material, stationery, business cards and more with as much detail as a picture.

Consider it this way– with a standard copy machine ( even with the very best quality colour copier ), when you place a bit of paper thru the machine to be copied, the ensuing page can only be almost as good as the first in your hand.

That suggests if you’ve got a slight crease where you held it in your hand or a speck of dust on the copier, it’ll show up in the result. With digital printing but the image, whether or not it’s text or a full colour image, is taken straight from a P. C. file and output thru the printing machine. The result will be pretty much as good as the first each time as there isn’t a physical scrap of paper being copied. It feels like with technology this guaranteed, everybody would be employing it, but that’s obviously not right.

According to ThePrinters.com, a company focusing on digital printing, the printing industry has stayed behind the times when it comes down to digital printing. More recent fast digital printing devices have managed to produce single and multi colour photographs for more than a decade, but less than five percent of printing firms have basically installed these devices.
